Transfer Race Heats Up: Liam Delap in Talks with Premier League Giants – Moyes Breaks Silence!

The summer transfer window is off to a blazing start, and one name is already making serious headlines—Liam Delap. At just 22, the striker is drawing intense interest from several top-tier Premier League clubs, including Manchester United, Chelsea, Newcastle, and now Everton, as confirmed by Toffees boss David Moyes.

Delap, who joined the Blues last summer from Manchester City in a deal worth £15 million, has a £30 million release clause triggered by the club’s relegation. That clause has opened the door for a high-stakes bidding war, and the young England U21 international is currently fielding offers from multiple sides.

Moyes has now publicly acknowledged Everton’s pursuit of Delap, revealing the club has spoken directly with the striker. “We’ve had a chance to speak to him, yes,” Moyes said. “He spoke to three or four clubs. He’s given us our opportunity to pitch our case. We’re probably a little bit behind the black ball, but you never know what happens.”

This revelation follows a statement from Ipswich Town manager Kieran McKenna, who confirmed the club has permitted Delap to enter negotiations with other teams. The striker has reportedly spent the past week engaged in talks, fueling speculation that a move could be imminent.

While Manchester United, Chelsea, and Newcastle are seen as front-runners, Everton’s involvement adds a compelling twist. Fans online are divided. One supporter suggested Delap would benefit from working under Moyes, calling him “an underrated and experienced manager,” while others debated the pros and cons of Delap joining clubs with varying levels of European competition, stability, and managerial security.

Despite Everton being viewed as underdogs in this transfer saga, Moyes’ track record with young talent could prove influential. Delap, a player with a high ceiling, might see Everton as a place for consistent game time and steady development.

The clock is ticking, and with interest intensifying across the Premier League, Delap’s future could be decided sooner rather than later. As clubs jostle for position, fans and pundits alike are watching closely to see where one of England’s most promising young forwards will land.
