Gabby Thomas is eagerly anticipating the 2028 LA Olympic Games, where she hopes to replicate her Paris success while also focusing on the 2025 World Championships in Tokyo.
At the Paris Olympics, Gabby shone, winning the women’s 200m final and helping the American 4x100m and 4x400m relay teams claim dominant victories. Now, she is excited to compete on home soil in LA.
In an interview with Olympics.com, Gabby shared her enthusiasm for the upcoming games: “It is incredible that the next Olympic Games are on home soil. I cannot wait to be able to represent our country at home. It’s been so much fun to do it here in Paris, but to be able to compete for your country, in the country, in LA, is going to be such an amazing feeling,” she said.
“I know we’ll have so much pride and people will be so excited to be there and celebrate us. It’s hard not to look ahead… but I’m definitely looking forward to that,” she added.
Before LA 2028, Gabby faces another challenge at the 2025 World Championships in Tokyo. As a triple Olympic champion, she aims to repeat that success at the World Championships, although the competition will be fierce.
At last year’s World Championships in Budapest, Hungary, Gabby took silver in the 200m, finishing behind Shericka Jackson. She also helped Team USA secure gold in the women’s 4x100m relay. In Tokyo, she hopes to improve her 200m performance and compete again in both relay events.
