West Ham Target a Pair at Nottingham Forest to Boost Attack

West Ham target Nottingham Forest attackers

West Ham United are reportedly eyeing a double raid on Premier League strugglers Nottingham Forest, with both Morgan Gibbs-White and Taiwo Awoniyi on their radar, according to Soccer Net.

Claret & Hugh reported last week that Gibbs-White was the target of significant attention, maybe from those trying to take advantage of Forest’s financial difficulties should they be demoted. It appears that the Hammers may try to sign both players in a double swoop.
Although the Awonyi connection makes sense, I have personally thought for a while that Gibbs White would be the ideal Lucas Paqueta substitute.
Due to Michail Antonio’s declining form in recent seasons, West Ham is currently looking for a replacement striker. With six goals and three assists so far this season, Taiwo Awoniyi has become a target.
Given that Awoniyi and Antonio have certain traits in common, Awoniyi may be an acceptable substitute. Even though he plays for a struggling Forest side, his goal total this season is higher than that of the majority of West Ham attackers.
It appears that Awoniyi is a low-risk choice. If David Moyes stays on as manager of West Ham for the upcoming campaign, his skill set seems to fit into his style.
For West Ham, obtaining Awoniyi and Gibbs-White at a reduced cost would be a brilliant move. But there will probably be competition for their signings, particularly if Forest gets demoted.
