Two Sky Sports journalists have provided a significant update on West Ham’s transfer plans, revealing the club’s pursuit of five key targets as they ramp up their summer activity.

With the Euros and Copa America concluded, West Ham is intensifying their transfer efforts. Under new boss Julen Lopetegui, the Hammers showcased a promising 2-2 draw against Ferencvaros, emphasizing Lopetegui’s high-energy, pressing style that impressed fans.

West Ham’s summer rebuild is gaining momentum. Lopetegui’s touchline instructions during the pre-season match underscored the demanding standards he will set for his players, highlighting the need for several new signings.

Fortunately, technical director Tim Steidten and the board are committed to this goal, aiming to add five more players to the three already signed, targeting a total of eight new additions before the window closes.

With four weeks until the Premier League season opener against Aston Villa and six weeks until the transfer window shuts, the pressure is on to secure a new signing each week. West Ham’s transfer activity is already accelerating, with Sky Sports journalists Dharmesh Sheth and Alan Myers delivering a pivotal update.

Following the £40m acquisition of Max Kilman, West Ham is now focused on securing a striker. Despite interest in Jhon Duran, they are unwilling to meet Aston Villa’s £35m valuation. Sheth and Myers confirmed this and provided insights into five key targets.

At Lopetegui’s unveiling, Steidten emphasized targeting the English market to comply with Premier League homegrown player rules. West Ham’s strategy is evident with recent signings like Kilman and Wes Foderingham and their current focus on five Premier League stars, predominantly English.

Negotiations are ongoing for Southampton’s Kyle Walker-Peters, with West Ham seeking a right-back and having also evaluated Manchester United’s Aaron Wan-Bissaka.

The club is keen to bolster its forward options, showing interest in Aston Villa striker Jhon Duran, though no formal offer has been made and interest has cooled in favor of other targets. Everton’s Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Arsenal’s Reiss Nelson are also under consideration, with Nelson prioritizing regular first-team football.

In summary, West Ham is proactively enhancing their squad, with significant transfer moves expected in the coming weeks, driven by the clear vision and intent of their new leadership.
