Zach LaVine may leave the Chicago Bulls this summer
Probably the NBA’s worst-kept secret, the Chicago Bulls wanted to trade All-Star guard Zach LaVine this season. Despite discussions with the Detroit Pistons, the team’s front management was eventually unable to locate a suitable trade partner. LaVine’s foot injury and the surgery that followed prevented him from doing anything this season.
According to a source, LaVine is apparently recovering and rehabbing ahead of time. Despite this, the report says the Bulls need to go forward and find a method to get rid of LaVine, even if it means getting pennies on the dollar.
Obtain some LaVine draft selections.
LaVine’s high salary was the primary factor preventing Chicago from acquiring him this season. It’s getting harder to locate a willing trade partner now that he has a history of injuries. But with Coby White and Ayo Dosunmu emerging in LaVine’s absence, the Bulls could be better off cutting their losses and moving on from the expensive guard.Greg Swartz wrote, โChicago isn’t going to get a massive haul, especially with LaVine playing just 25 games this season and with three years and $138 million remaining on his contract.โ
โThe best the Bulls can hope for is a pair of first-round picks from some contender and some salary relief as well.โ
